What We Do
Our Mission
Seedling’s mission is to educate and empower students, teachers and families around allergy and asthma health conditions. Seedling seeks to increase proficiency regarding allergy and asthma health conditions in educational settings.
Our Approach
Seedling takes a comprehensive approach to achieving its mission by focusing on three different audiences: students, teachers and families. All of our content adheres to Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Learning Standards and National Health Education Standards (NHES). We incorporate guidelines on food allergies issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our Board of Advisors, consisting of physicians, educators, mental health experts, nutritionists and caregivers, is integral to our content creation and review process.
Our Goals
Equip students, teachers and caregivers with fundamental knowledge regarding food allergies and asthma health conditions
Deliver practical, hands-on training to teachers to build confidence in supporting students with allergic reactions or asthma attacks
Cultivate a culture of empathy within classrooms and address common feelings of isolation and stigma
Support the community of families that care for students with food allergies and asthma, curating custom workshops based on need
